Kamal Haasan has publicly backed Vishal as a candidate for the post of President in the upcoming Producer’s Council elections. Kamal, who heads Rajkamal International, has referred Vishal for the post in his capacity as a member of the council.

Said a spokesperson for Kamal, “Vishal is a hardworking and focussed person who has the best interests of the film industry at heart. We have every confidence that he will go on to win.”
Vishal was dramatically suspended from the council after the comments he made in an interview irked the council. Following this, Vishal filed a court case alleging that the suspension was illegal.
Earlier this week, Vishal’s suspension was revoked. A source tells us that the actor unconditionally apologised for his remarks, and was allowed to join the council again.
