Kamal Haasans publicist has dismissed as speculation reports that the actor had decided to buy back the rights to Vishwaroopam 2 from producer Aascar Ravichandran. Ravichandran purchased Vishwaroopam 2 from Kamal Haasan in 2013. But the release of the movie has been delayed for a long time now, with Aascar Ravichandran mired in financial troubles.

There had been reports in the last few days that suggested that Kamal Hassan has been trying to buy the film back from Aascar Films and release it under his own Raaj Kamal Films banner. When Silverscreen reached out to the actor’s publicist, he called the reports speculation and added that no decision has been made on the issue yet.
The main cast and crew of Vishwaroopam – Kamal Haasan, Pooja Kumar and Andrea Jeremiah and composer Ghibran – will be seen in the sequel too. Veteran actress Waheeda Rahman joins the cast in Vishwaroopam 2, which is expected to have a runtime of less than two hours. Most of the movie is complete, with only about ten more minutes of the sequel left to shoot.
