Actor Kamal Hassan has criticised PETA, and has said that the animal rights group is not ‘qualified to tackle’ to offer an opinion on the Jallikattu issue. The actor, through his social media account, also asked PETA to try banning rodeos in US, before training its guns on TN’s Jallikattu.

Through a series of tweets, Kamal expressed his thoughts on the democratic way the protests for Jallikattu have been held, and also talked about the real and urgent need for ‘humble pathfinders and social reformers’.

The Jallikattu debate has taken the nation by storm. Protestors have gathered in public spaces all over TN to protest against the ban on Jallikattu, and also to ask for a ban on PETA, the animal rights group believed by many to be the reason behind the ban.
