Ramesh Aravind’s comedy drama Uttama Villain, which released in May this year, was recently screened at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards (LAIFFA), where it won a number of awards, including the award for Best Film, Best Actor (Kamal Haasan), Best Original Music (Ghibran), Best Song (Ghibran), and Best Sound Design (Kunal Rajan). Uttama Villain’s music director Ghibran also won the ‘Best Music’ award recently, at the Russian International Film Festival.
Uttama Villain, a meta-movie revolving around a middle-aged actor, and his life on screen and off screen. The film had an ensemble cast, including Kamal Haasan, K Viswanath, K Balachander, Jayaram, Andrea Jeremiah, Pooja Kumar, Parvathy, Parvathy Nair, Nassar, and Urvashi.
