Kangana Ranaut To Reunite With Director Anurag Basu For Imali

After 12 years, Kangana Ranaut and director Anurag Basu will team up again and this time for a love story. Back in 2006, Anurag Basu introduced the teenage-looking Kangana in his film Gangster. The film featured Emraan Hashmi and Shiney Ahuja in the lead.

Kangana has also worked with Anurag in the Hrithik Roshan-starrer Kites. She had a very small role in the film and there were talks of a fallout between the two after the film.

Now, for the third time, the duo is set to team up for Imali, in which the actress is set to play the protagonist.

The actress, who is currently shooting in London for Ekta Kapoor’s Mental Hai Kya with Rajkummar Rao, will start shooting for Imali after wrapping up Ashwini Iyer Tiwary’s kabaddi drama.

The prep for Imali is expected to begin by August but shooting for the film will begin only towards the year-end. The search for the male lead is on, according to Deccan Chronicle.

Talking about the film Kangana said: “It’s too early to talk about Imali as we are starting the film around the end of the year. All I can say is that Anurag is my godfather and everything I am today is because of him… I can’t wait to go back to the beginning.”

Meanwhile, Kangana’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is expected to release in a few months.
