The decision to name him Taimur Ali Khan angered some people, who felt that the infant shouldn’t have been named after a barbaric Mongol King.
Recently, Kareena’s partner Saif Ali Khan admitted that he had considered changing the name of his son, following the negative reaction. This led to rumours that the couple had decided to change Taimur’s name to ‘Little John’.

Kareena quashed the rumours in a recent interview with the Hindustan Times: “How can anyone think that? Why would I call my son Little John? My son’s name is Taimur. It is the most beautiful name, and he is the most beautiful and gorgeous man (smiles). And, no, I don’t call him Little John. Please address him as Taimur Ali Khan.”
