Vishal and Karthi are acting together in a film to raise money for Nadigar Sangam, the actors’ association in Tamil Nadu. Vishal is also the General Secretary of the association.
Theatre and cine actor S Ve Sekhar, who is also a trustee of the Sangam has confirmed that this script was chosen out of list of three scripts, by the association. Although the name of the film and the director have not been revealed, its reported that it will be an action film with both the actors in the lead.
After winning the Nadigar Sangam elections in October last year, members Nasser, Karthi, Vishal, Karunas, and Ponvannan had reportedly promised: a five-storied building with an auditorium with a capacity for a 1000 people, a gym, a hall for dance rehearsals, a preview theatre, a marriage hall, and an office on the property of Nadigar Sangam Charitable Trust located on Habibullah Road, T. Nagar, Chennai.
The total cost of the project is estimated to be Rs. 29 crores out of which Rs. 9 crores was raised by a star cricket match held with stalwarts like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan in attendance, this April. It was later announced that the rest of the fund is expected to be raised from an upcoming film.

Apart from this film, another film in the pipeline starring Jeyam Ravi and Arya is also said to be funding the Nadigar Sangam project. The salaries of the actors and part of the profits from the film will be given to this fund. Vishal, however, has been unavailable for a comment.
The production of the first film is expected to be complete in two months and is slated for a release later this year. The production of the second film with Jeyam Ravi and Arya will only begin in January next year.
