Actor Karunas has stated that he will soon quit as Vice President of the Nadigar Sangam, a post he had acquired last October, to concentrate on the development of Thirvadanai, his constituency as the new MLA of the AIADMK.

Karunas was introduced to Kollywood by director Bala in the film Nandha (2001). His character in the film, ‘Lodukku Pandi’ is still remembered. He went on to do several movies as a comedian and supporting actor and has also done a few films as the lead actor. He has composed music for the films Kasethan Kadavulada, Ambasamudram Ambani, and Rajathi Raja. He has appeared in films like Dhillukku Dhuttu with Sanathanam, Kodi with Dhanush, and has signed up for Vettrimaaran’s Vada Chennai.
