Kathir At The Pariyerum Perumal Success Meet

Kathir is the latest actor to be roped in for Thalapathy63, Vijay’s upcoming film with Atlee. AGS Entertainment, the production house, confirmed the news earlier today.

Tentatively titled #Thalapathy63, the movie marks Vijay’s third collaboration with Atlee after Theri and Mersal. Nayanthara plays the female lead. According to a report, Vijay is undergoing physical training under the guidance of a trainer for the role. Vijay is rumoured to be playing a sports coach in the film.

The pre-production activities for the film began with a pooja at Binny Mills, Perambur. The film will go on floors by January 21. The first schedule is likely to be in Chennai. Reports also suggest that, like Mersal and Sarkar, the current film will also be a Deepavali release.

A.R. Rahman is the music composer for the project while Vivek is the lyricist. As for the rest of the crew, Atlee has chosen the Mersal team, including editor Antony Ruben, stunt director Anal Arasu and art director Muthuraj.

Kathir, who debuted with the 2013 movie Madha Yaanai Koottam, was noticed when he played Vijay Setupati’s brother in the movie Vikram Vedha. Also starring Madhavan, the movie directed by Pushkar Gayathri went onto become a huge hit.

However, it was his performance in Pariyerum Perumal that won him appreciation. Produced by Pa. Ranjith’s Neelam Productions, the movie was directed by Mari Selvaraj, a former assistant of Ram. Pariyerum Perumal alsostarred Yogi Babu and Anandhi. The movie was about the caste system in the country. Having screened at various film festivals, the movie recently won the Best Film award at the Norway Tamil Film Festival.
