The plagiarism case filed against Kaththi was dismissed by the local court yesterday. The petitioner, Mr Gopi had alleged that the film was based on his story and ideas and had asked the court to ban it on these grounds. Gopi had also claimed in his petition that he is a former assistant of AR Murugadoss.

After a hearing, the judge dismissed the case stating that there was very little evidence to support Gopi’s claims. The news has certainly energised the Kaththi team, who have been bogged down by troubles – legal and otherwise. A press release from the film team termed the case dismissal a ‘birthday gift’ to ARM, who turned 37 yesterday.
Post-production work for the movie is going on in full swing now, and the actors have already begun dubbing for their parts. We hear that a couple of songs are left to be filmed and that the Selfie Pulla song is one of them.
