Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif has joined Aamir Khan’s Thugs of Hindostan. Speculations were rife after actresses Kriti Sanon, Alia Bhatt, and Saif Ali Khan’s daughter, Sara Ali Khan, were reportedly approached for the film. Confirming the news via Twitter, Aamir Khan introduced everyone to the ‘new thug’.

Dangal fame, Fatima Sana Shaikh, was the recent artist on board for the film, with Aamir and Amitabh Bachchan playing the leads. Khan’s role in the film is reportedly a lighter one, along the lines of his Rangeela character, while Bachchan will play his mentor.

Thugs of Hindostan marks the second collaboration between Katrina, Aamir and the director Vijay Krishna Acharya. The three had previously worked together in Dhoom 3.
Katrina is currently in Abu Dhabi shooting her upcoming film, Tiger Zinda Hai. The film, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, also stars Salman Khan, and is a sequel to the 2012 film, Ek Tha Tiger.
Meanwhile, Thugs of Hindostan is slated for a Diwali release, with the film going on floors next month. The movie will be bankrolled by Yash Raj Films
