On June 15, the Kerala HC quashed the order. According to a Manorama report, Mohanlal, former state forest minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan and forest officials are on the clear after the High Court quashed a quick verification procedure ordered by a vigilance court.

The issue began when a complaint was filed that Mohanlal was found possessing two sets of elephant tusks at his home in Thevara in Ernakulam during a search conducted by the I-T officers. Based on that, the Forest Department had registered a case. It was stated that the actor was found to be in possession of them since 1988 without permission. The complaint alleged that Mohanlal used his influence to obtain an illegal order to withdraw the case against him.
