IAS officer Prasanth Nair, who is fondly known as Kerala’s “collector bro”, because of his popularity among the youth, has won an accolade. The IAS officer has directed a short film titled Daivakanam (God Particle) and it will have it’s world premiere at this year’s Cannes International Film Festival.

Nair is an avid movie-goer. He implemented the Operation Sulmani in Kozhikode to help those who can’t afford food, tying-up with the restaurant’s association. When asked about this initiative, he said that he was inspired by the film Ustad Hotel.
The IAS officer, who also wrote the story and screenplay of Daivakanam, has previously written the screenplay for the movie Diwanjimoola Grand Prix, an Anil Radhakrishna Menon directorial. Produced by Satish B Satish, the music for the short film is composed by Sreevalsan J Menon.
