Calling the film a crime thriller, the director announced that shooting will start on August 13.

Kirathaka is the fifth directorial venture of the filmmaker, and his second collaboration with Aadi after the 2016 Telugu action-comedy film Chuttalabbai. The film is backed by Nagam Thirupathi Reddy under the Vision Cinemaas banner.

Speaking to Silverscreen India about Kirathaka, Veerabhadram said, “The title means psycho in Telugu. The film’s main plot deals with a psycho’s revenge, and the rest of the story is how they find the psycho who is involved in the crime. Aadi plays a young chap who gets caught in the murder mystery, while Paayal Rajput essays the role of a student who is the love interest of Aadi’s character.”

The film also stars actors Dasari Arun Kumar, Dev Gill, and Shamna Kasim.

As with his previous films, Veerabhdaram has written the script for Kirathaka as well. “It has been about 3-4 years since I wrote this script. It took time to find suitable producers and the right cast and crew.”

Kirathaka will be shot by cinematographer Raam Reddy, while the music is set to be scored by Suresh Bobbili. “The film has about four songs, including a duet, and the composing for these is over,” the filmmaker added.

When asked about the film’s release, Veerabhadram said, “We have not yet decided on the release date or mode, since it will take us till the end of the year to finish shooting. We may try to release the film around Christmas.”
