Kollywood Actors And Directors Support the Release of Perarivalan

Kollywood actors Sathyaraj, Vijay Sethupathi, Kalaiyarasan, and directors Pa Ranjith, Ram and Naveen will be taking part in a motor rally to support the release of AG Perarivalan, a convict in the the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.

On June 11, Perarivalan will complete 25 years in prison. The motor rally will begin from Vellore Jail and end at the secretariat in Chennai. The film personalities have insisted that their gesture should be seen as a humanitarian one.

Perarivalan is expected to be released soon, as the chief minister J Jayalalitha had hinted at it a few times after the Supreme Court dismissed his death sentence on February 18, 2014.

Perarivalan was arrested by the CBI on 11 June 1991 at Periyar Thidal, Chennai for providing a 9-volt battery for the explosive device to Sivarasan, the chief conspirator in Rajiv Gandhi assassination.
