Actor Kreshna has been roped in for a pivotal role in Maari 2. The actor is the latest to join the sequel to Balaji Mohan’s 2015 hit of the same name. Sai Pallavi plays the heroine, while Tovino Thomas is the villain.

The film will retain most of the original characters except for Kajal Aggarwal. Wunderbar Pictures is at the helm of this one as well, with Dhanush signing on to take care of production as well as playing the male lead.
The first film was set in north Madras and followed a don who loved his bling and raised racing pigeons. The sequel is expected to be set in the same scenario.
Kreshna has had an eventful year thus far. He was part of Feroz’s Pandigai, a bloody action thriller, earlier this year.
