Vijay Sethupathi’s next film is titled, Kavan. The film has Sethupathi teaming up with actress Madonna Sebastien, and T Rajendar and will be directed by K V Anand. Produced by AGS, the movie is an entertainer and is written by the writer duo SuBha.
Vijay Sethupathi feels that the film’s title perfectly sums up its ‘unique’ plot. “My character in the film is an underdog. He fights for everyhting in his life. And so, when the time comes for the biggest battle, he has to use his wits and build a weapon big enough to find success. That’s where Kavan (catapult) comes in,” he said.
KV Anand has a predilection for unique Tamil names. The exception to this remains his debut film, Kana Kanden, with Srikanth and Prithviraj. His subsequent films have all had original Tamil names like Suriya’s, Ayan, Maatraan, and Dhanush’s Anegan, to name a few.
Kavan has the music of Hiphop Tamizha and features cinematography by Abhinandhan Ramanujam, known for his work in films such as Double Barrel, and Darvinte Parinamam. Anthony will take care of the editing, while Vikranth, Jagan and Akashdeep Saighal of Ayan fame have been roped in for major roles.
