After a lukewarm response to Jab Harry Met Sejal, Imtiaz Ali is back, this time with Ekta Kapoor for a passionate love story – Laila Majnu. The teaser of the film is out now. As the name suggests, this one is a hard-core love story, with a picturesque backdrop, re-telling the classic tale of Laila and Majnu.
While the tumultuous backdrop of a quaint village, somewhere near the Indo-Pak border, adds romance to the screenplay, the story, however, seems bloody and gory.

The teaser starts off with the hero’s voice-over on how their love story is pre-written and neither the world, nor its people nor they themselves can change it. This is followed by a series of scenes showing glimpses of love and hatred, all set in a pretty valley. The trailer ends with chase sequences and fights, allowing us to think of it as a gripping love story.
From the teaser it is pretty evident that the makers have done a tremendous job of keeping the secret alive, of a story known to all. The film will be directed by Sajid Ali. Produced by Imtiaz Ali and Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures, the movie is scheduled to release on August 24.
