Actress Lakshmi Rai has now changed her name to Raai Laxmi. The Irumbukuthirai star decided to do it because she felt ‘Lakshmi Rai’ didn’t ‘gel with her personality’. The name-change has been coming for a while now, says the actress. “I have been moving a lot the past few years and I couldn’t find the time to do this in a legal, fuss free manner. Moreover, I think the name really captures my personality and character.” She also insists that she won’t have any trouble adjusting to her new name. “I have always been called Raai by family and friends, so it’s just a formality.” she shrugs.
The actress has issued a request to her directors to credit her as Raai Laxmi in Irumbukuthirai and Aranmanai.
