Actress Lavanya Tripathi seems to be taking it slow. She hasn’t been signing a lot of films lately and was last seen in Sai Dharam Tej’s box-office dud Inttelligent. In fact, she did sign a couple of films in between but opted out due to reasons best known to her (Tamil remake of 100% Love that now stars Shalini Pandey and Vijay Deverakonda’s next with director Parasuram).
And now, after a gap, she has okayed the much-awaited second film of National Award winning film Ghazi’s director Sankalp Reddy. It is touted to be a space thriller, starring Varun Tej and Aditi Rao Hydari. Even though the buzz is that Lavanya plays one of the two female leads in the film, sources tell us that the actress’ role is almost an extended cameo.

“Lavanya plays Varun’s love interest and will appear in flashes as he thinks of his past, while in space. The makers were initially keen to cast a fresh face for the role and even considered some names but finalized on Lavanya because she was perfect for the role, having worked with Varun in the film Mister,” says the source.
The film will be produced by Rajeev Reddy who bankrolled Gautamiputra Satakarni and also has Krish Jagarlamudi as a co-producer. Gnansekhar V.S. is the cinematographer.
