Distributor Tirupur Subramanian promised yesterday at a press meet that the remaining money – which amounts to Rs 6 crores (approximately) will be paid to distributors from North Arcot, South Arcot and Salem. Kalaipuli S Thanu and actor Sarath Kumar were also present at the venue. Tirupur Subramanian, who acts as a mediator in the issue, added that the money will be sanctioned by producer Rockline Venkatesh in the coming days, after which the amount will be split and distributed.
Subramanian then clarified that neither himself nor Rajinikanth had said anything about making a film with Vendhar Movies. “When Baba incurred a loss, actor Rajinikanth was bent on compensating the loss by offering money on humanity grounds. He doesn’t believe in doing a movie for compensating loss,” he added.
Also, commenting on the video which had recorded Tirupur Subramanian snapping at Singaravelan, the former stated that the phone conversation was edited and tampered with.
Kalaipuli S Thanu then accused Singaravelan of cheating the producers of Kangaroo and Thiranthidu Seese. “Since the industry is full of inexperienced distributors, they get cheated by people like Singaravelan. We are formulating a new law in which these fraudsters will be punished severly. With this press meet, the Lingaa issue will be settled once for all. Singaravelan and co are trying to threaten us and get more money which will not happen,” he declared.
