The shooting of Rajinikanth’s Lingaa is underway in Shimoga and thousands of fans have been thronging the shooting spot everyday hoping to get a glimpse of the Superstar. This has prompted local police officials to increase security for the crew. Producer Rockline Venkatesh has chipped in as well, bringing in private security personnel to ensure the safety of his cast and crew.
Director KS Ravikumar is filming crucial scenes of the film in the city and has requested that fans who do visit not reveal any details about the film. Rajinikanth visited the Theerthahalli Sri Rameshwara temple nearby to offer special prayers on behalf of the team for the success of his film.
Starring Rajinikanth in dual roles, the film is set in two distinct time periods. The 1940′ s portion of the film has Sonakshi Sinha as the love interest while the modern portion will see Rajinikanth romancing Anushka Shetty. AR Rahman is currently busy composing the soundtrack. Rathnavelu handles the cinematography while comedians Karunakaran and Santhanam take care of the laughs. Lingaa is scheduled to release on December 12 this year.
