‘Powerstar’ Srinivasan’s next film is a ‘spoof on the Lingaa controversies‘. Since Rajinikanth fans were miffed at this announcement, Srinivasan has now stated that the film is purely fictional and will not hurt anybody’s sentiments. “The film is about a successful actor who delivers one flop and is made to return money to the distributors. It will not insult thalaivar. That was my condition before agreeing to do the film,” he said.
Interestingly, the producer of this film is Singaravelan, one of the distributors who claimed money from Rajinikanth when Lingaa failed at the box-office. Singaravelan is planning to distribute the spoof film free of cost, so that the distributors and theatre owners recover their money lost due to Lingaa. Shooting for the film is said to commence in August and the makers are trying to rope in actress Sadha to play the female lead.
The film has been titled Naanum Hero Dhan.
