Rajinikanth, who recently wrapped his shoot for Petta, is all set for his next venture which is to be directed by AR Murugadoss. There was some confusion over who will produce the film, but it has now been resolved, and Lyca, who produced 2.0 will pick up the tab.
According to a report, Sun Pictures withdrew from the AR Murugadoss-Rajinikanth project, due to dissatisfaction with AR Murugadoss after the multiple Sarkar controversy. Soon after their withdrawal, it is said that Rajinikanth approached Lyca Productions and they have taken over the project.
The report also added that the news will be officially confirmed soon after the completion of promotions for 2.0 and Petta.
A spokesperson for Rajinikanth however told Silverscreen, “Nothing has been confirmed as of now. Sir has just listened to the script from AR Murugadoss and rest of the things are under discussion and not yet finalized. We have a lot of time and our main focus is on 2.0 and Petta.”
“Sometime in December or January, once we are finalized with the team we will begin the work and an official announcement will be made,” he added. Meanwhile the spokesperson for Lyca Productions refused to comment on it.
