National award winning filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar won accolades and awards for his 2001 film Chandni Bar. This film not only established him as an acclaimed filmmaker in Bollywood but also got him critical and commercial success. After that, he went on to make films like Page 3, Traffic Signal and Fashion. His last few outings like Heroine, Calendar Girls, and Indu Sarkar were box office duds.
According to rumours, Madhur Bhandarkar is all set to make a sequel to his acclaimed film Chandni Bar, which will be produced by Shailesh R Singh. The film’s story will revolve around the aftermath of the 2005 ban on dance bars in Mumbai. The film is slated to go on floors by the end of 2018.

Producer Shailesh R Singh confirmed the news to a leading daily, “I’m really excited to produce Chandni Bar 2 with Madhur as the director once again. I have already acquired the rights to the film and can’t wait to take it on the floors.”
Chandni Bar had Tabu and Atul Kulkarni in the leads. So, will they be seen in Chandni Bar 2? “We haven’t thought about the casting of the film yet,” says Shailesh R Singh.
