The Madras High Court has issued a notice to the Nadigar Sangam over the construction of their new building in Chennai.
As per sources, a petition was filed by the Vidyodaya Colony Civic Association stating that the building has encroached upon a 33-feet road that connects Chennai’s Prakasam Road and Habibullah Road. The residents of the colony also alleged that they were made to take a longer route as they are unable to access Prakasam Road.
In the past however, Naseer, the president of the Nadigar Sangam has denied all allegations of encroachment. He had also stated that necessary permissions were obtained from both the CMDA and Chennai Corporation for the construction of the building.

The case has come up for hearing in the vacation bench of the High Court, with Justice Kirubakaran and Justice Parthiban issuing notices to the Chennai Corporation, the CMDA, and the Nadigar Sangam. The bench has raised questions to the actors’ association, and sought a response from both the Chennai Corporation and the CMDA.
Earlier, the foundation laying ceremony of the building was held in a grand manner with actors like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan in attendance. At that time, actor Vishal had stated that the building’s construction would be completed by September 2018.
