The wedding of Mahaakshay, Mithun Chakraborty’s son, has been called off after a complaint of rape and cheating was filed against the former. He was scheduled to get married in Ooty on July 7 to his longtime girlfriend Madalsa Sharma, according to PTI.
Earlier this week, Mahaakshay was slapped with rape charges by a Bhojpuri actress. An FIR was lodged against Mithun’s son, and his mother Yogita Bali. However, they were granted anticipatory bail by the Delhi High Court on Tuesday.
Granting bail to Yogita Bali and Mahaakshay, Special Judge Ashutosh Kumar had asked them to furnish a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh with two sureties of the like amount, reported IANS. The court further ordered them not to tamper with evidence or influence witnesses and cooperate with the investigation.
According to The Indian Express, after the investigating team reached Mithun’s hotel in Ooty, where the wedding was to take place, the ceremony was cancelled and the bride’s family left the place. Further investigation into the case is going on.

Two days back, the wedding was still on despite the charges. Madalsa Sharma’s mother had told Spotboye. “He (Mahaakshay) met her (the complainant) in 2015 and we are aware of it. In fact, he had also filed a Non Cognizable (NC) complaint against her for creating trouble in the past. Why has she resurfaced now, just a few days before the wedding? Why did she wait for so long to take action? Everybody has a past and we know the truth,” she had said.
