It’s confirmed, Malayalam superstar Mammootty who was last seen in Street Lights will play the role of late Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, to be directed by Telugu director Mahi V Raghav.

YS Rajasekhara Reddy was elected as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh twice and was killed in a helicopter crash in 2009.
YSR’s biopic is titled as Yatra and Nayanthara will be part of the star cast. Mahi V Raghav, who made his directorial debut with the 2014 Telugu film Paathshala, had directed the horror-comedy hit Anando Brahma last year.
Mammootty had previously worked in Telugu movies like Swathi Kiranam – directed by legendary filmmaker K. Vishwanath, Surya Putrulu and Railway Coolie.
He also has a series of movies lined up this year, including Maamaankam, which is a period drama directed by Sajeev Pillai. Malayalam actor Neeraj Madhav who has a cameo in it, recently shared his experience on Facebook.
The actor also has Tamil movie Peranb, directed by Ram, that premiered at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam. Uncle, Parole and Abrahaminte Santhathikal are also in the pipeline.
