Mammootty might join Kaala, recent reports indicate. The actor last shared screenspace with Rajinikanth for the Mani Ratnam film, Thalapathy.
Representatives of Kaala have apparently reached out to Mammootty for a special role in the film. Thus far, there has been no confirmation. A spokesperson for Kaala too refused to comment on the rumours.

The film is being shot in Mumbai’s Dharavi slum at present. Videos of the film shooting have been uploaded online by fans of the actor, and the Kaala team has reportedly hired private security to help deal with this issue.
Huma Qureshi, Anjali Patil, Eshwari Rao, Suganya, Nana Patekar, Sayaji Shinde all take on pivotal roles in this Pa Ranjith film, that is slated to release next year. Dhanush is the producer through his Wunderbar Films.
