A promotional event at the Vadodara Railway Station for Raees ended in tragedy when a man died of breathlessness. The man has been identified as Farheed Khan Pathan, a local politician.
SRK, the lead actor of Raees, had boarded the train from Mumbai Central for Delhi as part of his promotional campaign ‘Raees by Rail’.

Fans of the actor had gathered at the Vadodara station to see him. Once the train arrived at the station, the crowd went berserk. Police officials are said to have tried their level best to control the situation. During the ensuing melee, Farheed passed away. Several people at the event are also said to have been injured during the fracas.

According to a report in The Hindu: “At around 10.30 p.m. the train arrived at platform number six of the station and halted for 10 minutes.The crowd went berserk when the train halted and began banging its window panes and even falling on top of each other. Police had to resort to mild lathi-charge to control the crowd.”
SRK has expressed his condolences at the death of Farheed.
