Manjima Mohan Says Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada’s Release Delays Were Frustrating

Manjima Mohan will make her Tamil cinema debut with Gautham Menon’s Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada (AYM). The film also stars STR. The film was originally scheduled to release this September. The project has seen several delays since its inception. AYM is now releasing on November 11.

Manjima told Deccan Chronicle that initially the release delays had really bothered her, “I got frustrated and called my father and also asked Gautham. He explained the reasons for the delay and now I understand. But sometimes, I need to be more patient.”

Gautham Menon chose her for the role after seeing her promote Oru Vadakkan Selfie.

Manjima said, “Director Gautham Menon saw my Malayalam film promotions and chose me for this film. I got to know that it would be a bilingual film only after signing the film. Initially, I was not interested in acting in it. But, Gautham encouraged me to do it.”

According to her, working on AYM was like doing a certificate course in film school. She said, “[Gautham Menon] switches on the camera, gives only a few instructions, and asks us to enact the scene.”

Manjima also said that her family had opposed her decision to pursue acting. She said, “My father did not want me to become an actress. He has nothing against the industry, but he has seen the struggles of an actress.”

Manjima Mohan has also signed SR Prabhakaran’s next film. She is also being considered for a leading role in a film with Soundarya Rajinikanth.
