The title of director Venkat Prabhu’s sixth directorial venture has been changed from Masss to Masss Engira Maasilamani, confirmed a source close to the team. At the press meet of Masss held earlier, a reporter wondered whether Masss is a Tamil word and if it would receive tax exemption. Director Venkat Prabhu then explained that Masss is the short form of Suriya’s name -Maasilamani – in the movie.
The film was censored with a U certificate a couple of days ago, and the title change might have something to do with tax exemption. Masss Engira Maasilamani will release worldwide on May 29, and reportedly, there are no smoking / drinking scenes and double entendre dialogues in the film.
Masss Engira Maasilamani stars Suriya and Nayanthara in the lead roles alongside Premgi Amaren, Pranitha Subash, Sriman and Karunas in important roles. Composer Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music for the movie and the songs are already chartbusters with Therikkudhu Masss and Piravi being the pick of the album.
