The lyrical video of Quit Pannuda song from the film Master was released at 6 pm on Friday. The song, composed and sung by Anirudh Ravichander, was unveiled on his birthday.
The film, starring Vijay in the lead role, is helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj of Kaithi and Maanagaram fame. It is bankrolled by Xavier Britto’s XB Film Creators banner.
Sharing a link to the video, XB Film Creators tweeted, “One #Master. One #Rockstar. Always together! Happy B’day @anirudhofficial” Quit Pannuda is a moralistic song about quitting alcoholism. The lyrical video features video clips of Anirudh singing, stitched together with photos of a sombre Vijay holding a glass of liquor.

On Thursday, Kanagaraj took to Twitter and announced the release of the song. He wrote, “UPDATE! Rockstar’s birthday special. Smiling face with smiling eyes #QuitPannuda.” Ravichander also shared his excitement and tweeted, “What a bday gift from dearest team #Master #QuitPannuda.” Soon after the announcement, #QuitPannuda began to trend on the micro-blogging website nationwide.

Master stars Vijay, Malavika Mohanan and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles. While Sethupathi plays the antagonist, it is reported that Vijay’s role would be a professor. Master was slated to release in 2020 but has been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
