Papanasam, which released in theaters on Friday, has got a thumbs-up from all quarters, including us. Actress Meena, who played the female lead in Drishyam and its Telugu remake, was all praise for Gauthami who has reprised her role in the Tamil version.

She declared that Papanasam has a lot more nativity to suit Tamil audiences and the Tamil dialect is one of the highlights of the film. “Kamal Haasan sir stands out in the movie, and Gauthami’s character is very different from the original. A beautiful family connect is visible in the film,” Meena said.
Papanasam is directed by Jeethu Joseph, who helmed the original, Drishyam. Music director Ghibran has composed music for the film starring Kamal Haasan, Gauthami, Nivedha Thomas and Baby Esther in the lead roles alongside Kalabhavan Mani, Asha Sharath, Anant Mahadevan, Charle and Delhi Ganesh.
