A day after filmmaker Karthick Naren opened up about how he has been ‘treated like trash’ by the producer of his film Naragasooran, Gautham Menon has now put out a statement apologising to his director and claiming that the two have resolved their differences.
“Just when lots of positive movement was happening on Naragasooran, a tweet from my director Karthick Naren upset me and I tweeted a reply. In retrospect, I feel I shouldn’t have. I apologise to Karthick for that,” he wrote.
His statement further clarified that he had given Karthick a free hand in the teasers, trailers, posters et al, and feels the rant coming from his side is owing to some miscommunication by ‘vested interests and a non-understanding of how the market works’.
Menon also writes about how his film Dhruva Natchathiram and Enai Nokki Paayam Thotta will release this year.
Karthick and Menon had a face-off on Monday, when the former took a dig with a rather cryptic message on trust. Sharing Fully Filmy’s recent CSK video, Gautham made remarks about ‘young filmmakers who whine instead of growing a pair’. Karthick had promptly responded to it, too, and gained a lot of support, with actor Arvind Swamy (who is a part of Naragasooran) and cinematographer Santhana Krishnan stepping in.
Yes we all can grow a few things, a pair of eyes that sees what we do to others , a pair of ears to hear the truth, a conscience to tell us when we are wrong and a pair of whatever to accept our mistakes and apologise…instead we grow our list of commitments that we can’t keep.

I would like to add that I also went through the same problem with the production house. It’s amazing how young filmmaker are always take for a ride.
