Mohanlal Releases The First-Look Of Biography On His Birthday

Actor Mohanlal, who is celebrating his 59th birthday today, announced on social media the title of his upcoming biography, written by Bhanu Prakash. The book, Mukharagam a comprehensive coverage of his acting career spanning 40 years, will be published in 2020. Previously, Bhanu Prakash authored Gurumukhangal, where Mohanlal talks about his teachers in life and cinema. It was published by Mathrubhumi Books.

The actor will soon embark upon his first directorial, Barozz, a fantasy period drama. He had announced his decision to direct the film through his personal blog on April 21. The film will be shot in 3D, and the cast will have several non-Indian actors. Barozz will be based on a mythical tale written by Jijo Ponnoose, the maverick director of My Dear Kuttichathan, India’s first movie to use 3D technology. The story, BarozzGuardian Of The Gama’s Treasure, is about an archaic treasure left behind by Portuguese voyager and invader Vasco Da Gama, now guarded by an old man who is in the lookout for a worthy heir to pass it on to. Malayalam news website The Cue has reported that acclaimed cinematographer KU Mohanan will be part of Barozz. The film will be shot primarily in Goa.

Mohanlal is currently acting in Ittymani: Made In China, a comedy entertainer, directed by Jibi and Joju. The first-look poster of the film was released by the actor on his Facebook page last week, and it features him in a feminine Margam Kali costume. Simultaneously, he is also shooting for director Siddique’s Big Brother, a family entertainer set in Karnataka. Recently, Bollywood actor Arbaaz Khan joined the cast of the film, making his debut in Malayalam cinema. Mohanlal will also be seen in the Tamil Kaappaan, directed by KV Anand, alongside Suriya Sivakumar, and in Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, a a big-budget period film directed by Priyadarshan.
