Mohanlal’s Odiyan went on floors earlier this week. Director Shrikumar Menon began filming in Varanasi, as the protagonist of the film – “Odiyan Manickan” – lived in Benaras for 15 years before returning to Thenkurissi in Kerala.
Art director Prasanth Madhav will also be recreating Thenkurissi village for the shooting.

Peter Hein is onboard as the film’s stunt director. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor through his Aashirvad Cinemas, the film has been penned by Harikrishnan and also has production design by Sabu Cyril. Shaji Kumar is the cinematographer, while M Jayachandran is in charge of the music.
Manju Warrier plays the female lead in this film that also has Prakash Raj in a pivotal role.
