Musicians to Honour KJ Yesudas

Musicians from Tamil cinema will present a concert – ‘Yesudas 50’ – to honour KJ Yesudas, who completes 50 years as a singer. The grand concert is being planned by his son Vijay Yesudas, Tharangini group, Lakshman Sruthi Musicals, and V Records and Raj Events.

Composers and singers who have collaborated with Yesudas, will pay their tribute by performing at the concert. Speaking at a press meet that was held yesterday, Vijay Yesudas said, “An orchestra comprising 50 pieces has been arranged. 50 songs of appa will be performed.” SP Balasubrahmanyam, Chitra, Unnikrishnan, Unni Menon, Mano, Vani Jayaram are among other singers who are expected to participate.

Vijay added that the musicians will honour the late filmmaker K Balachander by performing five songs from his iconic film Sindhu Bhairavi.

Yesudas 50 will be conducted on January 25 at 4.05 pm, at Nehru Indoor Stadium.
