Nalan Kumarasamy’s Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum is a subtle romantic comedy starring Vijay Sethupathi and Madonna Sebastian. Speaking at the press meet, Nalan said, ” The movie has mild dramatic elements with small conflicts. This film will be a complete contrast to my debut film, Soodhu Kavvum.” Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum will release on February 12, and has a run time of 2 hours and 10 minutes. It is scheduled to go to the censors next week.
Vijay Sethupathi, plays the henchman of a counsellor (Sundar, of Sathya fame), while Madonna Sebastian plays Yazhini, a job-seeker. Nalan said, “When Madonna Sebastian came for a screen test, she had just finished shooting for Premam. Alphonse Puthiran is my friend and I was impressed when I saw clips of Madonna’s acting in Premam. Even Vijay Sethupathi was awestruck with her performance. He feels her acting would put his pressure on him to perform equally well. Samuthirakani, plays the villain in the film, a sub-inspector. ”

Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum is a story about the blossoming relationship between Vijay Sethupathi and Madonna. Nalan said, “The interesting part of the film is that when they fall in love, the movie ends. Also, to avoid any rumors, there won’t be any sequel. This film is the official remake of Korean film, My Dear Desperado. The remake will have my touch, of course. The remake rights were purchased for an amount of Rs 30 to 40 lakhs.” A highlight of the film is a one-shot fight that runs for 3 minutes. This fight, choreographed by stunt master Hari Dinesh, will feature Vijay Sethupathi and four men.
When quizzed about the title controversy, Nalan said that ‘Ka Ka Ka Po’ was the acronym for Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum. He said, “There is another movie called Ka Ka Ka Po. The acronym comes up during a song in my film. I spoke to the team of Ka Ka Ka Po and assured them that I would market my movie as Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum, and not as Ka Ka Ka Po.”
