Naveen Chandra has joined Dhanush’s upcoming film with director Durai Senthil Kumar. Produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, the film’s shooting is currently underway.
“We are happy to have Naveen Chandra onboard. His performances in different shades have garnered a good response. We are happy that his presence would be offering additional value to the film,” the director had said in a press release.
The yet-to-be-titled project went on floors earlier this month. The first schedule is being shot in Courtallam, Tamil Nadu.
Durai Senthilkumar has collaborated with the National Award-winning Dhanush on Kodi, a political drama in which the actor played dual roles. Trisha was the antagonist in the film, which was also commercially successful.
Dhanush was rumoured to be playing both father and son in the film. Sneha is one of the female leads and was rumoured to be paired opposite the older Dhanush, making her mother to younger Dhanush. However, a source had previously told Silverscreen, “These are speculations being made by the media unnecessarily. No such thing is confirmed.” Reports regarding Dhanush’s dual role in the film and the participation of another female lead are also yet to be confirmed.
If Sneha is indeed part of the project, filmgoers will get to see the pair on screen, 13 years after Selvaraghavan’s seminal gangster saga Pudhupettai, in which Sneha played a sex worker.
Meanwhile, music for the film will be composed by Mervin and Vivek. Cinematography will be handled by Om Prakash.
Dhanush has a second project, tentatively titled Production No.35, lined up with the same production house. To be directed by Ratsasan fame Ram Kumar, the movie is touted to be a fantasy comedy.

Director Ram Kumar reportedly told TNIE, “The scripting work is still underway because Dhanush sir is occupied with two other commitments. This film has a fantasy-based subject, with good scope for comedy. Due to many reasons, my second film took a lot of time. It won’t happen this time. We hope to wrap up Dhanush sir’s film in six months after it goes on floors.”
Meanwhile, Dhanush is also gearing up for his second directorial that will be produced by Sri Thenandal Films and features him, Nagarjuna, SJ Surya and Aditi Rao Hydari.
