Nawazuddin Siddiqui Accuses ‘Filmfare’ Of Compromising His Reputation

Nawazuddin Siddiqui has accused the magazine Filmfare of compromising his reputation by publishing what his lawyers called a “reckless” defamatory article. The magazine falsely carried an article about Nawazuddin’s impending divorce from his wife, Anjali.

Siddiqui immediately sent a legal notice to the magazine’s publishers asking them to post a clarification.

The magazine had also used a picture of Nawazuddin with an unknown woman, erroneously identified as Anjali.

The actor’s lawyer told PTI, as reported by the Hindustan Times,

“It is indeed shocking that a leading magazine published an absolutely false, misleading and defamatory article concerning my client and her husband Mr. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, wherein they falsely stated that my client and her husband are separated.

“They did not even bother to authenticate facts with my client or her husband before recklessly publishing the said false article. This article has compromised the respect and reputation of my client, her husband and her school going children she was left with no option but to take legal recourse.”
