Nayaki Failed in Telugu Because Of Lack of Promotion, Says Director Goverdhan

Director Goverdhan Reddy aka Govi  said in an interview that his film Nayaki failed at the Telugu box office owing to lack of promotion. Nayaki, starring Trisha in the lead role, is a horror comedy made both in Telugu and Tamil. The telugu version of the film released on the 15 July and was panned alike by critics and audiences, and was a box office failure.

“He was always in a hurry and there were no social media promotions at all. I am confident that the Telugu version won’t rub off on the Tamil collections,” said the director of the producer, Giridhar Mamidipally, in an interview to the Deccan Chronicle. Mamidipally was Trisha’s former manager.

Nayaki‘s Tamil version that stars Ganesh Venkatraman, Sendrayan, Jayaprakash, Sushma Raj and Kovai Sarala in supporting roles, will release on 16 September. But despite the director’s bid to save it, the Tamil release is happening in an unnoticable way. Even Trisha, who initially had high hopes for the film, is not seen promoting the Tamil release – not even on her social networking pages.
