Actress Nayanthara, who recently impressed the audience with her performance in Kolamaavu Kokila and Imaikka Nodigal, is all set for her next horror film. The film has been titled Aira and will be directed by Sarjun KM. The first look poster of the film was unveiled recently.

Produced by KJR studios, which had earlier financed Nayanthara’s Aramm, the new film will reportedly have the actress essay dual roles. The movie is expected to release on Christmas this year.
The music for the film is composed by KS Sundaramurthy, who is known for his work in 8 Thottakal. The film also has Yogi Babu and Kalaiarasan in important roles.
Talking to Silverscreen about the film, Sarjun said, “After Maa was released, I got a call from Rajesh sir (Kotapadi J Rajesh of KJR Studios) who asked me if I had a one-liner for Nayanthara. He added that they preferred a horror drama. He heard the story I had in mind, and then made me sit with Nayanthara who liked it too. In fact, she had liked Maa a lot.”
Sarjun also went on to comment on the various horror films that release every year. Very few films are memorable and that will change, Sarjun promised.

“Several horror dramas release every year, but except a few like Pisaasu and Aval, there aren’t many memorable films. If a particular theme or idea succeeds, people tend to repeat that a lot in the film industry, and things start getting very bland and monotonous. But, someone is sure to break that spell,” he added.
On the work front, the actress will be seen in another thriller movie called Kolayuthir Kaalam, directed by Chakri Toleti. She will also be seen as the female lead in Ajith’s Viswasam directed by Siva, Sivakarthikeyan’s untitled film with director Rajesh, the Malayalam film Love Action Drama, directe by Dhyan Sreenivasan and a Telugu period drama, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.
