Nayanthara’s upcoming Tamil film Mookuthi Amman is reportedly eyeing a Diwali release through an OTT platform, letsott.com reported on Monday.
The report stated that the filmmakers have signed a deal with Disney+ Hotstar and that an official announcement about the deal will be made soon with the tentative release.
Sources close to the film, however, were unable to comment on the same to Silverscreen India.
Mookuthi Amman is the directorial debut of popular radio jockey turned actor RJ Balaji and is being co-directed by NJ Saravanan. This film will see Nayanthara playing the role of a goddess for the first time. Balaji had earlier told The Times of India that the film has all the elements of a devotional film and isn’t a satire.
The film will also feature Urvashi, Smruti Venkat, and Ajay Ghosh. Balaji will reportedly be playing the role of a middle-class person with three sisters.
Balaji, who has been commentating in Tamil for the ongoing Indian Premier League, announced that he was taking 20-day break to complete the formalities of Mookuthi Amman to get it ready for release. He took to social media to share this news with his fans.
