Nivas K Prasanna has signed on as the official music composer for Prabhu Solomon’s Kumki 2. The young music director took to social media to make the announcement.

While he is nervous about the project, given that D Imman had composed the chartbusters in Kumki, Prasanna opened up to Deccan Chronicle about the project. “I’m extremely choosy about my projects and when this film came by, it was overwhelming. Prabhu Solomon’s manager met me and after nearly two months, I got on board. It was a surprise and I need to live up to sir’s expectation.”
He has already composed one song.

The composer is known for his music in Thegidi, Sethupathi and Zero, and his Kootathil Oruthan is scheduled to release on July 28. He has some other projects in hand too – one with his Sethupathi team, director Nirman’s Nenjamellam Kadhal, and an untitled film with CV Kumar.
Kumki 2 might see Vikram Prabhu reprise his role as mahout Bomman. Actress Jeevitha’s daughter, Shivani Rajasekhar is most likely to play the female lead. The shooting for the sequel is expected to go on floors this month. The makers have made plans to shoot in the forests of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
