A Delhi court has issued a non-bailable warrant against self-proclaimed godman Swami Omji Maharaj (also Vinodanand Jha), a contestant on the tenth season of the reality show Bigg Boss. The warrant was issued after his brother lodged a theft case against him, attesting that despite repeated calls, Swami Omji Maharaj failed to turn up in the court. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Satish Kumar Arora issued the warrant and directed Omji to appear in court for the next hearing. The hearing is scheduled for the 3 December. Omji’s bail bond and surety bond have also been forfeited.

In November 2008, an FIR was registered against Vinodanand Jha alias Swami Omji on the basis of a complaint by his younger brother Pramodh Jha. Jha accused him of breaking the lock of his bicycle shop in Lodhi Colony along with three men and stealing 11 bicycles, expensive spare parts, the sale deed of the house, and other important documents.
The self-proclaimed godman also faces charges under the Arms Act and the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act in other cases.
Omji was earlier involved in a fist fight with female astrologer Deepa Sharma on a national television talk show in October. Deepa Sharma lost her temper and smacked him on the shoulder after he made personal comments about her. The situation escalated into an ugly fight on camera.
