After Sandamarudham, actress Oviya will be seen in Seeni. Interestingly, the film will have Oviya sharing screen space with an elephant, a first for the actress. Newcomer Arjun is one of the leads, essaying the role of an MBA graduate who wants to make it big in life. The story is all about how the elephant – Seetha – helps him achieve success and win him his girlfriend.
Speaking to us, Oviya said,”this is the first time that I’m acting with an elephant. There was absolutely no disturbance from Seetha. In fact, she behaved very well on sets and gave us no trouble at all.” The film was made under the strict supervision of some animal welfare activists and of course, Seetha’s own handlers. Said director Rajadurai, “We took all necessary precautions while handling Seetha. Since it is a sensitive issue, we made sure that all guidelines were followed.”

Rajadurai has been the co-director of films like Thalainagaram, Marudhamalai, Padikkadhavan, Maapillai etc with director Suraj. His first solo directorial venture was I Love You Da with Raju Sundaram and Simran in lead roles. After a 12 year gap, he has returned to direction with Seeni.
The project is being financed by Madurai Selvam, a longtime publicist for the stars, under the new production house, Velammal Cine Creations. Srikanth Deva composes music while veteran lyricist Vairamuthu pens the songs. The project is rapidly progressing and will wrap up by the end of November, said the film’s spokesperson.
