Actress Oviya has been summoned by the Tamil Nadu Police. The actress has been asked to appear for questioning in the investigation into her alleged suicide attempt.
Oviya, who recently exited Bigg Boss Tamil due to depression, was seen on an August 4th show immersing herself in the pool, in an apparent attempt to commit suicide. Following this, an advocate filed a case with the Nazarathpet Police Station, Chennai, asking the police to launch an investigation into the issue.
The complainant blamed the show’s producers – Endemol Shine, its host Kamal Haasan and Vijay Television for forcing her to do a range of activities that culminated in her suicide attempt.

A police inspector attached to the Nazarathpet Station said that a preliminary investigation into the issue was currently underway.“We have recorded the complaint in the Community Social Register (CSR). We spoke to Oviya’s personal secretary, who denied that she attempted suicide,” he told The Hindu.
Oviya’s spokesperson told Silverscreen that the actress was currently vacationing in Kochi and was expected to return to Chennai for the investigation. “We have every intention of co-operating with the Police,” he said.
