Pa Ranjith’s third production venture will be directed by his associate Suresh Mari, who has worked on Kaala and Kabali. The film is likely to star actor Aravind Akash, along with Ranjith’s regular collaborator actor Kalaiyarasan.
Speaking to Silverscreen, director Suresh Mari confirmed the project and said that it was still in initial stages. “Script work is on and it’s too early to reveal anything about the story. Announcements will definitely be made by Ranjith, and an update can be expected in 15-20 days.”
He added that the genre of the film was comedy, and the team associated with Ranjith in the past will be part of this film too. About the cast, he said, “I thought Kalaiyarasan was required for the story, so I suggested his name. I am also looking for actors to play the other characters.”
Kalaiyarasan told Silverscreen, “I’m definitely acting in the film, but I can’t reveal anything about my character yet. The last time I met Suresh anna we had decided on a few changes to the script, so the re-work is going on. Updates will be made once the script is final.”
He also said, “I have been associated with director Ranjith and I’m very familiar with Suresh anna and his work. I trust them, and I would have said yes to this project even without listening to the story.”
Kalaiyarasan’s breakthrough came with his performance in Ranjith’s Madras in 2014. He later acted in Rajinikanth-starrer Kabali, where he played a school teacher. He has also collaborated with director Mysskin, and was last seen in Airaa.
