Padmavati To Get U/A Certificate From CBFC, Title May Change To ‘Padmavat’

After much to and fro, reports suggest that Sanjay Leela Bhansai’s Padmavati might get a U/A certificate from the censor board and the title of the film could change to Padmavat.

The others suggestions of the CBFC, include 26 cuts in the film and a disclaimer at the beginning of the film and during the interval.

Earlier the censor board has sought the opinion of two historians – B.L. Gupta and R.S. Khangarot – from Jaipur. A six-member panel, including the two professors, was reportedly formed by the CBFC to ascertain whether historical facts has been tampered with in the film.

The Karni Senas of Rajasthan had launched a violent protest against the film ever since it’s trailer was released.

The film, made on a budget of Rs 190 crores, stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini, Shahid Kapoor as Ratan Singh, and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji.
